Is happiness a destination or a journey!!

Finding happiness is a goal for many. A common misconception is only a perfect moment can bring happiness. But, is that true? Can you postpone happiness?

Happiness is not just a word but a dream for many. One may feel if the particular problem is solved one might be happy.  But that’s never the case, my friend. Just like you can’t postpone living “life” you can’t postpone being happy. If you are going to be happy, you are going to be happy right now, right at this moment. Focusing on the goal will only deprive you of the enjoyment you could experience in the journey. This will further bring discontentment since you will never know when to stop because you don’t know what you are chasing in all the haste.

The loop :

If you place your happiness on a goal, you invite yourself in a loop full of discontentment.

Excess of anything is bad. We have heard it innumerable times, isn’t it. How do we know when to stop. In all aspects of life, all relations, all the things we do, we need to find balance of happiness and contentment. Excess work, excess study, excess laziness will reduce the value and create imbalance. Things when done in an appropriate way and for an appropriate time will bring us joy.

Like your body, if you do excess workout in a day, you might not have energy to do something else. You will feel exhausted the entire day. The same exercise when done in right amount and right manner was supposed to rejuvenate, relax and bring peace to you. But you went on and you attracted negative out of positive things.

Then, on the other hand, excess eating. If you don’t eat you might feel dizzy. If you eat a lot, you might feel bloated. You see, how important this concept of knowing when to stop in your day-to-day life activities is. And, if you are successful in applying it in small things, it would do wonders when you are stucked in big situations like relationship, finances or business.

So, basic idea is enjoying what you are doing. If you are doing workout with a goal to reduce 5kgs and your entire focus is on reduction and not enjoyment you are never going to be happy even if you reach your goal.
Being content is the first step that makes you realize how much is sufficient for you and where do you need to stop. But, the problem of today is people are never content & so they keep on going on and on.

A businessman is never content with his revenue/market capital. He is chasing happiness with his work initially, but when is that happiness replaced by numbers/ fame he himself is unaware. Thus, in this case, what you are chasing has shifted you will never find your contentment.
A traveller is never satisfied with travelling. He will always have a bucket list to tick off.
A student is never satisfied with the marks and goes on to chase more and more.

However, it is not wrong to dream big, work hard. But all work and no play make Jack a dull man. You need to set limit for yourself at which you will take a pause and do something more refreshing.
